BACKGROUND

The EmployerOne Survey was conducted for the seventh time. The survey was open from November 2022 to January 2023 for employers in the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula Region, which is comprised of the counties of Bruce, Grey, Huron, and Perth. In previous years, the survey has only been open for the month of January. Based on feedback received from our project advisory
committee members, we opted to open the survey earlier in an attempt to reach a higher number of employers, in particular those seasonal employers who may not be as accessible in the winter months.

The ongoing importance of EmployerOne is the survey’s ability to collect and summarize local workforce data directly from employers. This information is crucial to local organizations engaged in workforce attraction and retention strategies, strategic planning, and other community projects requiring local labour market data. In a small labour market, this type of data can be challenging to acquire, and EmployerOne has continued to fill this
need.
