EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SEARCH MEETS WITH SUCCESS

sara pelton 18 Edit 2Walkerton, ON (April 04, 2022) – The search for a new Executive Director for the Four County Labour Market Planning Board (FCLMPB) has met with success. The board is pleased to announce that Sarah Pelton will become the new Executive Director (ED) on April 4th, 2022.

FCLMPB, Co-Chair, Dave Trumble and member of the committee tasked with the search for a new ED, is keenly aware that as “we say farewell to an icon of our community in Gemma Mendez-Smith, we could not be more fortunate than to have as a new ED a person with over-whelming qualifications, recent experience working for the FCLMPB and a passion for the work”.

A period of transition where Sarah and Gemma will be in the office at the same time will set the FCLMPB and the community up for success. We thank Gemma for her expertise and style which wonderfully served the needs of the organization and the community for two decades. Our region will forever be changed for the better because of Gemma. Her new adventures will continue her life of service. Transition of this type is often frightening for the organization and the new ED. The board and staff at FCLMPB are excited to work with Sarah as she puts her own passion, style and expertise into the work and on behalf of the community.

Trumble also makes mention of the level of care and caution that went along with the exceptional teamwork of the committee of the board tasked with the search for a new ED. “The board members of FCLMPB are all volunteers, yet this group of volunteers, ably aided by Ralph Kikkert of Strive and advised by Mendez-Smith, worked at a level that would be the envy of any team asked to undertake similar work”. The board wishes to thank all applicants. Seldom would any region find an array of such excellent candidates.

The Workforce Planning Board is a leader in workforce development, providing evidence-based analysis and engaging a broad range of labour market stakeholders. The FCLMPB works to provide stakeholders with quality labour market information so they can make decisions which result in a thriving, viable economy.
