As one of the top five employment sectors in the Bruce/Grey/Huron/Perth region, the data collected from employers in Manufacturing through the annual EmployerOne survey has given us considerable information about how this sector’s labour market has developed over time. From 2015-2020, Manufacturing employers were asked about their experiences with hiring and separations, hard-to-fill positions, recruitment methods and availability of workers. This report highlights important changes and trends in this sector, creating a baseline as we move through the uncertainty of the labour market in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
