connect2SKILLS

When opportunity knocks, say Yes! Launched in 2017, connect2SKILLS is connecting people to full time work in key growth sectors. SkillsAdvance Ontario projects, funded through Employment Ontario by MLTSD and the Federal Government, and led by the Planning Board, are opening up exciting prospects for unemployed and underemployed individuals in Bruce, Grey, Huron and Perth.

Free Training For Employees Working In Hospitality & Tourism

The project offers four weeks of in-class industry training geared to Hospitality and Tourism or Manufacturing, financial aid to assist with temporary barriers and a two weeks of paid job placement for individuals seeking employment in the sectors. To date, over 180 participants met the eligibility criteria to complete training and earn certification in WHMIS, Smart Serve, Food Safety, Customer Service, LEAN Awareness and Lock-Out Tag-out equipping them with key skills and qualifications to proceed to job placements and full or part time positions in the industry they choose.
