This initiative promotes school to work transition programs to employers. It identifies short, medium, and long-term workplace education experiences that employers and students can mutually benefit from by participating. Workplace education experiences help career planning and planning for post-secondary education and training. Passport to Prosperity continues to enhance the linkages between high school students and employers so that workplace education experiences take place. This is done through supporting career symposia, tours, speakers, co-op placements, Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Programs, work experiences, mentoring, job shadowing, the Specialist High Skills Major program, school-work transition projects and special events to recognize best practices for employers and students. The Passport to Prosperity Campaign is supported by the Ministry of Education to be offered in the counties of Bruce and Grey and Northwest Simcoe. Key Partners: Ministry of Education; Bluewater; Bruce Grey Catholic, Simcoe and Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Boards. Passport to Prosperity Coordinators have immediate access to new local employers through cutting edge functionality that helps high school and elementary students extend learning beyond the classroom.
