Jo-Anne Cameron is a Co-Chair and Director at Large for our Region.
Jo-Anne grew up in Bruce County, and like many in our area left home to pursue further education and a career. Bruce County, like the other counties in our area, is beautiful; our residents have a strong sense of community and pride, making it a difficult place to leave. Jo-Anne, missing it too much, returned home in 2006.
She has been in the field of Employment and Training since 1999 in various capacities ranging from manager to educator to counsellor; most recently with vpi as a Career Specialist and Facilitator. Prior to taking on a position with vpi she worked successfully with a wide range of people in their pursuit for employment, including recent college graduates, individuals experiencing significant physical and mental health barriers, and people who have lost their jobs due to labour market adjustments.
In addition to her role in employment services, Jo-Anne has also been the Secretary for the Waterloo Wellington Training and Adjustment Board, a speaker for the Business Education Partnership, chairperson for the Guelph Wellington Employment Coordination Committee, Family Literacy Facilitator for Project READ Literacy Network, and an active member of the Grand Valley Chapter of Human Resources Professionals of Ontario. She also has experience in home construction, as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity International. Jo-Anne graduated with her diploma in HR from the University of Guelph’s Human Resources Management Program.
